The process being used is called Ozone Technology. Normally jeans are rinsed with large amounts of water to get rid of the excess indigo dye and chemicals are applied to fade the jean and clean up the indigo bleed on the pocket linings. When a jean is ‘ozonized’ those processes are drastically reduced and nearly eliminated. The ozone acts as bleach to disinfect the garment, kill bacteria and clean up the indigo. In turn this reduces the water consumption and greatly lowers energy and chemical usage.
